IRAN: Smaller almond crop predicted in California
The 2019 almond crop is now forecast at 2.2 billion pounds, down 3.5% from the 2018 crop of 2.28 billion pounds.

IRAN: Iranian grape production on the rise
Around 1.8 million tons of grapes were produced in Iran in the last Iranian year, of which 107,500 tons were exported. This was reported by Tehran Chamber of Commerce, Industries, Mines and Agriculture citing data released by the Statistical Center of Iran and the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration. Iraq, the UAE and Russia with more than 18,600 tons, 14,400 tons and 12,900 tons of purchases respectively were among Iran’s top three export destinations. IRAN: Iran exports Saffron to forty-seven countries in the world
Iran exported 40 tons of saffron during the first three months of the current Iranian year (March 21-June 21). According to Ali Hosseini, a member of Iran’s National Saffron Council, the price of Iranian saffron on global market now stands at €700-1,000 per kilogram. The price range indicates that Iran’s saffron exports were worth €28-40 million in Q1. Iran is the world’s biggest producer of saffron and accounts for more than 90% of global production.
