IRAN: Iran Pistachio Production on Increase
June export shipments are about 10,000 MT of pistachios, 2.5 times more than crop year 2018 (the last on-year crop with the same starting inventory) for the same month. News of July 2020.

RAISIN
IRAN: Raisin Exports at $164m in Fiscal 2019-20
A total of 120,000 tons of different types of raisins worth $164 million were exported from Iran in the previous fiscal year (March 2019-20), registering a 6% increase compared with the year before. According to Darab Hassani, an official with Agriculture Ministry, Iran has around 308,000 hectares of vineyards with an annual output of 3 million tons of grapes, out of which some 200,000 tons of raisins are produced.
The official expects exports to increase to 150,000 tons this year.
The main grape producing provinces in Iran are Fars, Qazvin, Hamedan, Khorasan Razavi, East Azarbaijan, West Azarbaijan, Zanjan and Markazi in a descending order. (Quoted from Financial Tribune 4-07-2020)

IRAN: Iran’s Date Exports at $211m in Fiscal 2019-20
A total of 238,152 tons of dates worth $211.64 million were exported from Iran in the last Iranian year (March 2019-20), according to the spokesman of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration. “Iran exported dates to 85 countries during the period.
Pakistan, Kazakhstan, the UAE, Turkey, Afghanistan, Malaysia, Bangladesh, India, Denmark, Ukraine and Iraq were the main destinations,” Rouhollah Latifi was quoted as saying by ILNA. According to an Agriculture Ministry official, Iran is the world’s second biggest producer of dates with a yearly production of around 1.2 million tons that accounts for 10% of the global total output. Iran: Fig Exports at $47m in Fiscal 2019-20
A total of 13,600 tons of figs worth $47 million were exported from Iran during the last fiscal year (March 2019-20), according to the director general of the Agriculture Ministry’s Tropical and Subtropical Fruits Affairs Bureau.
“More than 105,000 tons of figs were produced on over 59,000 hectares of orchards across the country during the period,” Zahra Jalili-Moqaddam was also quoted as saying by Fars News Agency. The official noted that the southwestern Fars Province is Iran’s fig production hub and accounts for the lion’s share of the country’s exports.
Lorestan province in the northwest and Kerman in the southeast are other main producers of the fruit. (Quoted from Financial Tribune 20-07-2020)
SAFFRON
IRAN: Iran’s Q1 Saffron Exports at $38m
A total 37.64 tons of saffron worth $38.58 million were exported from Iran to 52 countries during the first quarter of the current Iranian year (March 20-July 20), according to the spokesman of the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration.
“Hong Kong with more than 12.73 tons worth $14.4 million was the main export destination followed by Spain with 9.19 tons and the UAE with 3.48 tons,” Rouhollah Latifi was also quoted as saying by IRNA. Other customers of Iranian saffron in Q1 were Italy, South Korea, Sweden, France and China, he added.
Latifi noted that 115,000 hectares out of the 122,000 hectares of land under saffron cultivation in the globe are located in Iran. (Quoted from Financial Tribune 22-07-2020)
