PISTACHIO

IRAN: Iran’s most expensive export product
Pistachio was the most expensive product among Iran’s exports. Iran sold each ton of pistachio at $8,058 in the 11-month period, however the price was 5 percent less compared to the preceding year. Iran exported $824 million worth of pistachio in the first 11 months of the last fiscal year, 8 percent less year-on-year. (Quoted from Azernews 3-08-2018)

ALMOND

IRAN: Almond Exports Earn $25m p.a.

Around 160,000 tons of sweet almond valued at close to $1 billion are produced in Iran every year, of which 4,000 to 5,000 tons worth $25 million are exported to more than 26 countries, according to Ramezan Rouintan with the Ministry of Agriculture. In Iran, more than 160,000 hectares of orchards are under almond cultivation. The main producers of almond include Fars, Chaharmahal-Bakhtiari, Khorasan Razavi, Hamedan, Markazi, East and West Azarbaijan, South Khorasan, Yazd, Kermanshah, Qazvin and Lorestan provinces. RAISIN

IRAN: Iran’s raisin exports up by 7%
Iran shipped 130 thousand tons of raisins worth 271 million dollars to different countries in the previous Iranian calendar year (ended March 20). Iran’s Trade Promotion Organization has announced that supportive and supervisory role of the government in securing low-cost financing for exporters to purchase products from producers will improve quality of production and exports.

Exports of raisins can be According to Export & Import Regulations Office of Iran’s TPO, comparative statistics of raisin exports in last year and the earlier one indicate a sever-percent increase in the value of raisin exports. Iran is the third largest exporter of raisin in the world by exporting more than 150,000 MT, 27% global Consumption, of raisins worth around 250 million dollars annually. IRAN: Iran produced close to 1.2 million tons of dates in the last Iranian year

Iran produced close to 1.2 million tons of dates in the last Iranian year that ended on March 20, 2017, also close to 20% of overall production, worth around $300 million, were exported to Europe, North America, the Far East and Russia, registering a 2% increase compared to the previous year. According to the official, Egypt, Iran and Saudi Arabia are the world's biggest producers of date with 1.4 million tons, 1.2 million tons and 1.1 million tons per year respectively.
Director General of Agricultural Ministry’s Tropical and Subtropical Fruits Department Abolqasem Hassanpour also told that 230 hectares of date plantations in Iran produce more than 12 types of the product.
According to Hassanpour, Sistan-Baluchestan, Hormozgan, Kerman, Fars, Bushehr, Khuzestan, Ilam, Kermanshah, Yazd, South Khorasan and Isfahan top the list of Iranian provinces that cultivate dates. (Quoted from the Financialtribune 608-2018)


SAFFRON

IRAN: Iran’s saffron exports grow 25% to $98m in 4 months

More than 70.8 tons of saffron worth nearly $98.35 million were exported from Iran to more than 49 countries during the first four months of the current fiscal year, registering a 21.6% and 25.1% growth in weight and value respectively compared with the corresponding period of last year.
According to latest data released by the Islamic Republic of Iran Customs Administration, the top 10 export destinations for Iranian saffron were the UAE ($31.64 million), Hong Kong ($19.23 million), Spain ($16.54 million), Afghanistan ($9.74 million), Vietnam ($8.8 million), Qatar ($2.4 million), Italy ($1.4 million), Sweden ($1.1 million), France ($1 million) and Taiwan ($877,742).
